       Important angioplasty procedures were successfully performed at Giresun Gynecology and Obstetrics Training and Research Hospital under the leadership of pediatric cardiology specialist Dr. Bekir Yükcü. According to the information received from the hospital chief physician Assoc. Prof. Dr. Berkan Şahin, a total of 6 children, including the youngest patient of 16 months, were intervened.

        In three patients, a hole in the upper chambers of the heart (atrial septal defect) was detected, and these patients underwent transcatheter closure in the same session after esophageal (transesophageal) echocardiography. In addition, patent ductus arteriosus (blood passage between the pulmonary artery and the aortic artery, which should not pass) was closed in three patients. All patients were discharged in good health one day after the procedures.

       The team members who took part included Prof. Dr. Alper Güzeltaş, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Taner Kasar, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ilke Tamdogan, Specialized. Dr. Bekir Yükcü, angio nurse Musa Turgut and related medical teams, the procedures were successfully completed. The operations, which were also supported by the anesthesia team and the ward nurse team, were carried out safely at Giresun Training and Research Hospital.
